During this webinar, guest speaker and dietitian Vanessa Clarkson, will review the latest evidence to support the inclusion of plant proteins into diets for good health. She will address some myths and provides practical ideas for plant-based eating that dietitians and nutritionists can use with their clients with reference to the UK and Irish populations:

Expert Speaker Biography
Vanessa Clarkson RD RNutr
BSc Dietetics, MSc Food Policy
Vanessa is a public health nutritionist, dietitian and food policy expert with extensive experience supporting communities to eat well and lead healthier lives. In her roles with some of the world’s largest food businesses including Coles in Australia and Asda (Wal*Mart) in the UK, she has lead the charge on developing, implementing and evaluating change policies and programs that genuinely make an impact on population health outcomes.
UK born and bred but currently residing in Australia, she is well respected in her field and advocates for improved systems to support healthier lifestyles, right up to Australian Federal Government level, where she currently chairs the Healthy Food Partnership’s Reformulation Working Group and is a member of the Health Star Rating Advisory Committee. She is also recognised on a global level, having received special invitations from the Institute of Medicine in the US and the European Commission to speak on the role of public health improvement programs in the food industry.
Vanessa has specialist interests in behavioural economics, behaviour change, marketing communications and plant-based nutrition. Her expertise in maternal, infant and child nutrition and has recently led to her writing her first book with Murdoch Books – ‘Real Food For Babies And Toddler’ – containing over 80 whole food recipes and a wealth evidence-based information, geared at fostering a lifelong love of real food in children.
